I have ordered wood for years from Paul Bunyan & Sons in Melrose Park. We have never been disappointed in the quality of wood whether we use it in our wood burning fireplace or our outdoor fire pit. I recently had a tree that needed to come down right away and they took care of it before nightfall. Unfortunately I have to be honest here: Tim (the owner) gave me a quote for a 3 day job. It’s been 4 months since they came and cut down most of the trees that were in the work contract. Once he knew my brother and I were disabled vets, he claimed his family wereall vets and he said I could make monthly payments from my disability checks and the “vet deal” was not getting charged interest. My husband signed their contract on March 12 and gave them a $600 deposit. It has been 4 months and services still have not been rendered. He stopped returning my husbands calls and texts, so I texted him on June 25 pretending to be a new customer. He called right away, of course, and promised to call my husband July 1. Stay away from a thief, liar and very arrogant individual, the owner or the owner son named Tim Mullis. Have a contract with him, he has not full filled the contract but took the money. I disputed with my credit card company and I just found out that he responded to the credit card company as the contract has been full filled and my credit card took the money back.
