Italian Landmark – It's not popular to review old restaurants. No one would ever find this place without chance or word-of-mouth. And despite this I've had great experience after great experience there. An unpretentious, inexpensive, and warm haven for good Italian cusine. What? Great food, and personal service don't have to come with high prices and attitude? Don't tell Il Fornaio, Pansano, or Maggiano's. I'd choose Patsy's everytime. (OK, They really ought to make their own italian dressing, but I am willing to compromise ... read more
Family style atmosphere – The food is a little hit or miss - but they have the best chicken marsala in town! Service is great and the atmosphere is old style but fun. Great value.
Newark, 1959 – Title sums it up. Beehive hair, tomato sauce from a can, iceberg salad with "Italian" dressing. Marginally acceptable if you're in the neighborhood, you're brkoe, and you don't have a car.
I go 1500 miles to get there – I first discovered Patsy's in 1978. It reminded me of the scene out of Godfather. I now live in Florida and don't miss it when I am in Denver. The lasagna is outrageous. Just don't order it when I am in town, because they do run out. Home made meatballs and sausage with some good Chianti and it's like heaven. I can't wait til my next trip.
Tasty AND Kitschy! – This is my husband's and my favorite place to start a Friday evening. A decent glass of wine, a great homemade Italian meal, and absolutely no attitude (a good thing, since it's next to some fun, off-the-wall art and stage venues). The mural on the north wall fills the dimly lit dining area with character. Most Friday and Saturday nights you can listen to their resident lounge singer in the next room, faithfully belting out Sinatra tunes with his karaoke machine. So much fun!
