Avoid Dr. Antero! Dr. Antero performed surgery on my foot, and it was a disaster. She excessively shortened my bone (first metatarsal), and the head of the bone was not properly placed into its joint (causing poor range-of-motion). I used Dr. Antero 15+ yrs ago for ingrown toenails. I called Monday in hopes of getting an appt for other ingrown toenails. A (NON) gentleman answered the phone and told me that the first available was in Sept. I said wow, I guess I need to go ahead and make an appt for then and hope for a cancellation. He proceeded to tell me I had to have a referral to see the dr. NOT because of my insurance but bc she needed to know why I needed to see her and then they would call me if she agreed to see me. Dr Antero is the most fantastic and caring doctor I have ever experienced. She puts her heart into helping her patients. I highly recommend her. She's excellent.
I had an appointment and waited over 1 and a half hours and still hadn’t been seen. As I waited, I noticed how dirty the waiting room was. Cancelled my appointment and left. I found a great podiatrist in Birmingham.
