The Patio Pancake Place originally opened as a drive-in restaurant on June 24, 1964. It was very high tech for those days. There were speakers in the parking lot which customers could place their order and then wait for their order to be delivered. All without leaving your car ! "The Patio" was first and foremost a breakfast and lunch restaurant, specializing in pancakes. The homemade pancake batter recipe, made fresh each day, is still the same as in 1964. The varied soups and the many desserts are also made daily.

Patio Pancake Place is outstanding I got to this restaurant twice per month for breakfast in a large group and the service always amazes me. They serve terrific food (biquits and gravy are awesome) and so prompt it will make you wonder how they do it. Pancakes, of course, are a must try also.

Cinnamon roll with PB frosting is delish. Our go-to breakfast spot in Salida. Love it.
The Frankie Burrito is awesome. The half order is the same size as a regular breakfast burrito.
