Well loved and came highly recommended but for some reason couldn't diagnose cataracts in my eyes. Compared to the opthalmologist who took 5 seconds to examine and confirm my cataracts, I would have to say Dr. Segal was incompetent. I wasted my time and money for unnecessary Lasik.

I regret anytime a patient is unhappy. I personally evaluate every Lasik candidate over 50 for cataracts. As we age, we all develop cataracts. No test predicts when it will be visually significant. If detected, I advise postponing Lasik. Some patients ask for a touch up if their vision has changed long after Lasik. In patients over 50, this is likely cataracts, affecting vision but not visually significant. I've done 12000 cataract and 8000 Lasik cases. Each eye heals and ages differently.
