I was bothered by buyerbeware's comment. Must be a competitor trying to hurt them. I have been dining at Paragon for over 20 years and have to totally disagree with buyerbeware's comment. There are very few restaurant where u can get fresh, homemade food with exceptional service and at reasonable prices. The Paragon is family owned since 1973 and the owners are very hospitable. It is also one of the cleanest places to eat. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone new in town or just visiting. THE SOUPS ARE HOMEMADE... read more
Bullocks to the other review – I lived in Waukegan for many years life and have been going to the Paragn since I was a wee tot. I may admit it may not be the brightest and most luxorious restaurant ever, BUT it has never claimed to be. It's motto is "Homemade food still exists" like any neighborhood diner. It is a lot cleaner, affordable, and clean then many establishments in Chicago. The waiters aren't say the "best" but they get your meal, refill your coffee and chit chat with the regulars. It's the Cheers of restaurants. ... read more
Paragon My family ate at this restaurant last weekend. The service was very slow. The food was not only served cold but horrible. My husband ordered breakfast and didn't recieve his toast until he had finished his meal. PROS: None CONS: Bad food, slow service

Paragon of Waukegan The Paragon restaurant is a very attractive restaurant conveniently located on Grand Ave in Waukegan. They have delicious entrees, sandwiches, and soups and are reasonably priced. They attract alot of seniors in their restaurant due to their seniors menu. They are family owned and operated and they manage to make you feel like a guest in their home when you dine with them. The Paragon is open 24 hours a day..so no matter when you need a great sandwich, day or night, they are there for you.
Buyer Beware – If this was the last place on earth to eat I would starve. This is by far one of the worst restuarants that I have EVER had the displeasure of dining at. The staff have more attitude than brainpower and if the ever get my order right I would be impressed. Having worked in the food industry I know what to expect and this restuarant is sorely lacking.
Paragon Restaurant has a 4 star rating with 177 reviews.
