She refused to see my preemie sons straight out of the NICU after we made the effort to take them to her office. The other patients in the waiting room were outraged at Mathews’ refusal to see our sons and were vocal about it to the office staff (also rude and unprofessional, especially the alleged “supervisor”). Save yourself the trouble and choose a different pediatrician.

After 3 weeks in the NICU our twin boys needed to establish care. Even though they needed to see a pediatrician ASAP, the office gave my wife a hard time when we were checking in because we were 15 minutes late to the first visit. There was almost no parking available in the lot and construction at the front door. It was a huge undertaking to get there with twins recently out of the hospital. My husband and I were deeply disappointed by our Dr's visit with Dr Mathews-Kukla. Very poor bedside manner and communication style. She was condescending, rude and belittling. She lacked compassion and empathy. We do not recommend booking in with her after our experience. We also had to wait over an hour with our newborn, no apology given to add insult to injury.

I love her! She is very personable and i totally trust her opinion. As a new mom, she makes me feel heard and comfortable. She is always on time and never rushes through appointments. I love her thoroughness and openness. I would schedule all of my appointments for my baby with her if I could. I would recommend her to anyone.

Dr Matthews-Kukla instills confidence and is clearly at the top of her game. She is personable, a good blend between efficiency and warmth. My 9 year old loves her and her staff. She takes the time to explain to -all- of us what she will do and what the issue is. She answers all our questions without lingering. She is also not afraid to refer us to specialists when it is clear it is beyond her purview.
