Ok food, but bad management attitude – We have been eating at this restaurant regularly for years. It has always been an ok, but certainly not exeptional, local restaurant. Tonight they put us in the new back room, in which tinny speakers play hard edged Italian rock music. I politely asked if they could put on different music. The owner/manager was willing to turn it down a bit, but refused to put on a tape or station that would be listenable. His words: "It is not my problem if you do not like this music -- it is your prob... read more
That's Italian! – If you like authentic Italian cuisine and friendly polite service, this is the place! The head chef Bruno Quircini puts a lot of passion into his food and it tastes delectable. Great antipasta, sausages make by Bruno himself, the pastas are great, the lasagna bolognese is wonderful, the fish is always fresh and so is the fruit and veggies. My husband and I have gone in there and we have gone with a group, and the service is always good. If you go alone you can sit at the counter and eat, drink and watch the... read more
Best Pizza in the City! – This may only look like a neighborhood joint, but I travel all the way across the city just to eat their thin crust pizza baked in a woodburning stove. Fantastico! Service is great and efficient too and although it's usually crowded, the host makes an effort to seat you quickly. This is one of my favorite restaurants in the city.
Fantastic Italian Restaurant – You can't go wrong with Pane e Vino - the owners of this restaurant love good quality food, and it shows in their dishes. Everything is fresh, and the flavors are bright and delicious. The pasta is obviously homemade and the sauces are full of flavor. My boyfiend and I like to split a pasta and a main dish. We are particularly fond of their PESCE FRESCO DEL GIORNO - a baked whole fish cooked in a flavorful broth. We like it so much, in fact, we never seem to order anything else! Why mess with s... read more
Haven't had a bad meal or experience yet! – We have a good meal and a good experience everytime we eat here. We split a salad, pasta and fish. You know what? They're happy to do it! Of course we always order a bottle of wine. Try a simple insalata mista along with the mushroom and truffle pasta (hopefully they'll have it it a special) and finish it off with the pesce fresco (another special). That will certainly take care of both of your appetites. Enjoy!
Good resteraunt, no service or organization – the help is sloppy and un-interested in creating a nice dining experience. On slow days it is worth visiting., Don't even think about it if it is busy. Reservations means nothing to these people. On multiple occasions I have been forced to wait with a reservation over half an hour.
The Food Needs Seasoning – I had been here years ago and remember having a good experience. This time, service was good but the food needed salt and I am the last person to add salt to my food in a restaurant. The steak and grilled chicken were both bland and needed seasoning. What happened?
What A Letdown – For years Panne e Vino was OUR place. My wife and I brought friends and family there dozens of times and spent untold sums. The last time we went was a good friend's birthday. We had been there about two hours, working our way through appitizers, entrees. dessert, several bottles of wine and finally coffee. As we were finishing up we were asked to leave to make way for another party that was complaining about having to wait to be seated. I have never had that happen anywhere else. I even wrote them a letter ... read more
Mouth-waterhing – Food is scrumptious and at the prices they offer - purely unbelieveable. Ambiance is cozy and very friendly and comfortable. Makes you happy to dine there,
