RecommendedIf you haven’t tried Pammel Grocery and Deli, then you are missing out! Awesome food! The biryani is my favorite (not currently serving it though). We also love the gyros, falafel, and samosas! Really enjoy picking up some specialty grocery items when I’m in store. It’s a great place to stock up on spices I use frequently! Also, the owner is SUPER nice. Always so warm and friendly! Check it out!

This is located in the back of the grocery store. Amazing food. I’ve had numerous different items here from the Greek salad to gyros and gyro dinners. The meat is fantastic and the owner is very sweet and kind. Love the atmosphere here too. I highly recommend this place. Will be back lots in the future!
Just had a gyro and some samosas, excuse me if I spelled that wrong. Incredible, if you take the time to really savor that samosa the flavor is out of this world. Totally recommend it, if anything at least try those samosas with the sauce, whatever that sauce is.
Small place but boy does it have a lot of stuff! Tried their grill area and the food was really good. I love the selections! I love all the frozen foods since I am not the greatest cook. Sure makes India feel closer especially when I can’t really cook.
They serve the best gyro! All other gyros are a disappointment after eating here! We make a point to eat here every time we visit.
The lamb is perfect. The gyros are delicious. The staff are wonderful. �
Pammel is one local shop that everyone in Ames should be happy to support. The food is delicious, some of the best halal I've ever had, and it's very reasonably priced. The owner, an ISU alumnus, is an incredibly nice person and the service is great. In addition, this is one of the only places some international students can eat or buy imported groceries. Overall, it's a wonderful shop and I would recommend it to anyone
