Palo Alto junior zoo This is a wonderful place to take the kids for a couple of hours to visit their favorite animlas. Its not really as large as a zoo or have many animals. But its a grat way to spend the afternoon, especially with a toddler. Admissions is also free, so its lack of exhibits are fine. Its really educational for little children and they have fun too. check it out.. its pretty fun and its free!!

Palo Alto Junior Museum and Zoo My youngest daughter really loves to go here and see everything. It is a bit small, but they have plenty for the litle ones. We enjoy the different exhibits that they have and usually plan our trips around that.

Makes for nice afternoon for pre-schoolers My son is a little over 3-years old and over the past couple of years, we've been to a large number of kid-oriented museums, fun parks, petting zoos, and the like. The Palo Alto Junior Museum ranks about middle of pack with some strengths and some opportunities to improve. On the plus side, the Zoo is a relatively rare feature for a free neighborhood fun spot. The selection of animals is small, but includes enough variety (e.g. reptiles, bats, rabbits, birds, and a jungle cat) to ke... read more

Great free fun for the kids I take my kids here when we have the rare free morning or afternoon. It's not a huge zoo - it has small animals, but if your kids are preschool age, bigger animals can be scary. Inside, there is a lot to do and touch. Donations suggested, but not required.

Fun place to take lower elementary students to There are a lot of hands-on things for the energetic hands to try out. The zoo is not huge, but it's cute and enchanting for the little ones. They offer many classes and they do birthday parties, too.

Palo Alto Junior Museum & Zoo This is a low-key facility with hands-on exhibits and a zoo for young kids. But, don't ignore the classes and camps that are offered for elementary and middle school kids. There are some great offerings that are fun and educational. Camp Kinetic (offered during the summer) was a favorite in my household - early exposure to physics principles while having fun!

Good Summer Camps for Kids The junior museum always has a variey of summer camps and classes for kids, k-5th grade. It is too bad they don't have camps/classes for the teens as they do such a good job with the younger kids.

Great resource for younger kids Although small in scale, to have a museum and zoo just around the corner is fantastic. They offer rotating science and geography exhibits science and have mini zoo out back with about 50 or so animals. You can also hold birthday parties here and have your kids attend special education classes that they hold.
