If only the freshest seafood will do, then this Outer Richmond eatery is worth the trek. At peak hours there is always a wait, but bottomless glasses of free wine nullify the chilly night. Frequently packed, the dining room hums with noise but never screams. The understated, casual decor makes it malleable enough for romance or a family meal. The ocean dictates the reasonably priced menu here, so it is nearly impossible to order wrong. The preparations are simple, permitting the fish to take center stage. The wine list favor... read more

I've been going to the Pacific Cafe since 1976 . I have never been disappointed with the food or the service. A few of my favorite dishes are the seared ahi tuna with wasabi butter , The halibut Parmesan, and the snapper baked in Parchment.
One of my favorite seafood places!! Consistently delicious food and great service.
Food is good. Wait is tooo long. Not enough places to sit.
I go for the grilled rainbow trout almost every time at Pacific Cafe. There are exceptions, which are also - always - outstanding. The best seafood cooks on the planet, and you couldn't ask for better service. We've been "regulars" here going on nine or ten years, which is nothing compared to folks we've met while sipping wine, waiting for a table, who have been regulars since the day the place opened. That's saying something. It's a San Francisco institution in the best possible ways.
This is the best little fish/seafood cafe in the area, and has been this way for many years. Nothing has changed, thank goodness. Fancy? No, it's a cafe with a friendly staff and the food, superior. It is so comfortable you know you are in a "neighborhood" cafe (shuu, don't tell anyone I live 25 miles away). If you have to wait, and you are not greeted right away (unusual), be sure to sign-in on the little clipboard; then just relax and enjoy the complementary wine. This place is great.
Had a very nice dinner with friends there. Food was excellent and service too.
