What an awesome place and only a 3 hour ride from home. I'm still here and can't wait to come back.
Got my free lifetime pass from the park system. Took a long walk with my pup, visited lake Louisa. Was a lot larger than I anticipated. Can't wait to go back to go fishing. Looks like there may be some lunkers lurking.
I brought my dog hiking here for the first time yesterday. I love hiking experiences where we don't see anyone else for our entire hike and this did not disappoint! No people until the last 1/2 mile of our 8.5 mile hike. I'm sure the weekends are busier, but this was great for a Friday morning. The trails were both well kept and clearly marked.
It's a great place to go for peace and quiet and great walks. The beach by the lake is great for a pic-nic and all for $5 what more can you ask for. 😄
We went camping for the first time on Christmas. It was a wonderful experience. Beautiful park and very clean campsites. We were at lot 43 and it was big enough for our three tents. The bathrooms were very clean and had really nice showers. We went to the fishing pier on Dixie lake and it was gorgeous. Can't wait to go back again!!
