I was disappointed with the chicken fried steak special, it was just ok. Chicken fried steak was ok but the green beans were crunchy and I like the country style that's simmered in bacon for a long time. I love a good roll more than anything but the roll was the cheap kind and was over-baked, dry and crumbled apart. I will try something else next time. The staff was friendly. I like the ambiance.
Great food, great atmosphere, great people. I wish there was one near me. A true Mountain cafe. I had the Excalibur which took everything I had to finish. Can't wait for our next trip that way.
We ate here today, staff was awesome!! Hostess was so kind and funny!! My mom and dad ordered the daily lunch special which happened to be the chicken fried steak, mashed taters, and buttermilk gravy. I ordered the chili cheese burger, "clean up crew not included." Both were amazing the chili cheese burger was the best I have ever had and so savory!
