I absolutely love coming down every November for the race. I love the course, the people are great and friendly, the expo is good for being in a small space, and the food/beer/party at the end is awesome. This year since I knew I wouldn't have time to train property I decided to do the Southern 6 and help my friend PR for her half. I'm excited to run it...BUT I wish the shirt was also a tech shirt, or at least a long sleeve t-shirt like the 8k is getting. Love, love this race!! 2nd year running it with awesome running buddies. Fantastic event! Only one suggestion. Music at the start....need more high energy...Guns n Roses, Metallica, Nirvana, ACDC.
The marathon weekend was a great experience. It was well organized, with the the hospitality and care that Outer Bankers show every time I visit this area. There is no where else I would have rather ran my first marathon.
