Awesome Bar!! – Love hanging out there. The crowd is fun and the bartender Mishelle Meow is the best! Tiki bars and rock n roll are my fav and this place doesn't disappoint.
A great place to start your hangover – Otto's is a lovely little tiki bar in the East Village where you can go to enjoy the music, whether it be from a dj or a live band in the back, play some games, make a record of your night in the photo booth, or just get completely and ridiculously drunk. Margaritas! – Otto's is one of those places you can go to at 4 in the afternoon or 3 in the morning and still run into interesting people, hear good music, and count on getting a good drink. A friendly and unique spot amongst all the boring cookie-cutter bars that have taken over the area. Helps that Mishelle Meow (the hot, fiery red-haired bartender) makes the best margarita ever!!
divey, swingin', & loud, (and boasting one of the finest bartenders on earth) – Otto's is divey. But "divey" really means "real," "unpretentious," and, essentially, pretty kickass. The music is loud, the crowd can vary from friendly and bubbly to blind drunk and crazy, the decor is rock-and-roller (but lacks a boring, commercial sheen). Best Bartenders and Drinks combination! – This place is the best!! Exciting Friday parties. Great Dj's. Lots of bands and awesome drinks. GREAT drinks. The bartenders are characters. They slay me with their hot attitudes and stories. Ms.MEOW is especially awesome. Friendly, always kept my glass full and pours a mean drink. Once i passed by after work for "one" drink and closed the place out. Plus the place has the deer hunting video game. who does like to look at beautiful women, drink, and (fake) shoot things.
BEST PLACE FOR A BIRTHDAY PARTY!!! – I just had the best birthday party ever! The owners--Steve and Nell--were super-helpful in planning my big day. They even gave me a bottle of champagne. The bartenders were friendly and made beautiful drinks with fancy straws and umbrellas all night! Tons of Fun – I used to live around the corner, before it was Otto's, (it was called barmacy then). I remember how happy I was when a cool spot opened up there. The place is great. I'm not normally a fan of kitschy bars, but Otto's somehow manages to make it cool. The drinks are top-notch, I even was tempted by my bartender to try one of the weird tiki cocktails. Best tiki bar and music club!! – Every time I visit this East Village spot I am intrigued by the diversity of regulars that hang out there. Every night is different--beautiful rockabilly gals, hot rock and roll guys, silly Hawaiian-shirt wearing guys, and stylish mods. And of course the everyday average Joe seems just as comfortable hanging out. Great for people watching and making new friends. Friendly bartenders. Great live music and Djs! Definitely worth checking out.
Otto's rocks! Cool vibe, good music, great staff! – The best thing about Otto's besides the cold beer, sweet drinks and awesome bartenders, is the fact that it's one of the last cool places to hang out in the East Village or all of NYC for that matter. Low NYU vibe for the most part, plus kick butt rock and roll bands! Check it out!
