There's good and there's bad about Jim ("Dr" Ottesen). I didn't mind him for the first couple of visits. He seemed smart like he knew what he was talking about. The more I met with him the more hostile the situation became. He seemed really annoyed when I shared my honest thoughts with him. It's like he expected me to have certain answers and when I didn't he got really upset and offended. He didn't seem to want to help or really understand me. Amazingly helpful!! He tells it to you straight no BS! Honestly the people on here complaining about him and the very same people that needed his advice the most ????

I would not recommend Dr. Ottesen. I only saw him for two visits. The first visit was okay, but the second visit (knowing me all of a little over an hour) he judged my character and accused me of being a certain way. I told him he was incorrect about his assumption, and he said that I responded too quickly, so he knew I was lying. I was not lying. Very unprofessional. Review negative feedback on his Google maps listing. Detailed info on his inability to really help couples succeed in their lives and relationships are in greater detail their. James frivolously presides over his couples and clients. He needs to stop and realize the harm he is contributing to people's and couples toxic lives. Subjective as these reviews are, they're also potentially significant in helping those who need help get it from other more reliable resources, certainly not this one.

When it comes to porn addiction. He doesn't really have a substantial way to help you. After getting other therapy from other qualified professionals, I've concluded that he is a quack. I just don't understand how what he did could have been helpful.

The best. There are some real quacks out there that have given friends of mine terrible advice. Avoid the quack social workers and see a real psychologist like Dr. Otteson if you are having difficulties with your relationships.

Dr. Ottesen is an amazing Psychologist. He had such a clear understanding of the problems and how to help us resolve them. I would certainly recommend him!

I don't typically leave reviews, but I felt my experience with Dr. Ottesen should be shared with others. He is such an insightful person, and knows how to address the problem at hand. We have been to other counselors, but Dr. Ottesen is the first to give us the tools to really move forward. He is truly different than the others.

I have dealt with what the rest of society and clinicians label addiction for over 30 years. I have never been clean for more than a few months. Dr James Ottesen taught me more in the first 3 visits to enable me to change than I had learned in all those years with numerous therapists and groups. He is an answer to prayers. I now see my behaviors for what they are thanks to his willingness to tell me the uncomfortable truth. I can be free of this affliction!!! I see myself as safe for my family
