Terrible store, they announce on the PA system that they are doing everything possible to ensure our safety while shopping at Jewel but the truth is they are doing absolutely nothing. First, they do not enforce mask wearing in the store while other stores around the area are very strict about enforcement. RecommendedI have been shopping at this Jewel for 15 years, I purchase roses every weekend from here. When I was leaving out of the store a young man by the name of Brandon screamed very loudly “JUSTIN” the bagger’s name. He told the bagger to “GET OVER HERE!” The way he called Justin’s name was very disrespectful and ignorant. Racially profiled my friend and accused her of stealing. The worker put her hands on my friend and then went through her purse without permission AND called the cops and reported a fight. There was no fight. This is unacceptable. Won’t be getting my business.
I want to begin by acknowledging that I have been a faithful Jewel customer for many years. I have multiple family members who are also faithful Jewel customers. I find it appalling that we are in a time where injustices toward minorities, particularly African Americans, is still being practiced. Racially profiles black women and ask to check their purses, then call the cops to escalate the situation for no reason. Offered no apology! So disgusting & ridiculous !! Do better!
I stopped at the Munster Jewel Osco today & observed that they were not disinfecting the shopping carts. Next the store employee's were being allowed to wear their masks pulled down below their nose and mouth. The guy handling produce had his mask pulled down below his nose and should not have been handling the produce. The guy stocking dairy had his mask pulled down to his chin and I told him that there is no point in wearing the mask if you're going to pull it down like that.
