This was my first time getting surgery and I was extremely nervous and anxious. As soon as I got to Pre Op it all melted away, I couldn't have asked for more caring genuine people then I received. Special thanks to Andrew in Pre Op for making me feel right at home and Dr. Mason for the great work he did. There are a couple others that were great but unfortunately I never got their names. Highly reccomend for anyone getting surgey done.
If I could give zero stars I would! I was asked to come in early for my surgery and then proceeded to wait 2 hrs hooked up to an IV and given medication to help relive my bladder AFTER surgery. Well, I woke up from surgery and had urinated all over myself and I had to tell the nurses I needed help to get cleaned up. The "bed" I was on was a nightmare especially with my back problems- which is what I was having surgery for. I woke up with severe nausea which I again had to ask for help. My wife had to have surgery here with Dr. Mason during Covid. I was very happy with the pre-op surgical team and instructions, they communicated clearly and I knew what to expect on the date of her surgery. At the completion of surgery Dr. Mason was great with sharing information to us and making sure we were ready to face recovery. All things I have come to expect from Tidewater Orthopedics. The staff at Orthopaedic Hospital at Sentara CarePlex was amazing. I recently had a procedure performed by Tidewater Orthopaedic, during the Covid pandemic. While I was excited to get this done, I had my reservations due to the time we're in. From the beginning, the staff informed me of what precautions they had put in place and what I should expect.
