405gr bullets are very accurate in a Marlin 1895 SBL, you can shoot MOA at100 yards with tuned ammunition and the shooter doing his part. We took a load down to Texas for hog hunting and they kill hogs dead. Even Trapdoor power level loads pass through big 200 pounders like they're not even there. This is likely due to the fact that these bullets did not expand at all, creating nice and clean .459 holes in the boars, which their shield fat would close up and not leave a blood trail. Great Product with no leading and extreme accuracy. I've used .30 caliber, .38 caliber, .44 caliber, and .45 caliber and would use nothing else in those guns.
