I was deeply moved by the memorial they have installed on the grounds. It definitely gives you some time to reflect on the history of psychiatric institutions. The museum hours are different from the hospital hours. Check before coming.

While at oregon state hospital in 8/2024 On a .370 based on incomplete and innacurate medical records and retaliatory mental health provider/ circuit court conduct in klamath county ,I was denied my due process rights and bodily autonomy / human rights by state hospital staff on the fith day I was there until I left six months later for walking out of an I.D.T. telehealth meeting that I had gotten no informed consent explanation for prior to the meeting.i was also not told I was expected to be on camera during this I.D.T. me... read more

This place is for inmates who are still in jail this is not a psych ward. The State hospital became a better healing environment for inmates. Calling inmates patients is unfair because most people are on an aid and assist order for being unable to assist their attorneys. The social workers believe in second chances no matter what. I can understand why some people have to take medications though because there behavior is outlandish. A lot of beautiful people work here, however a lot of terrible people work here as well.
