After our family doctor of over 20 years retired without assigning someone to care for his patients, I was anxious about the wait times, using walk/in clinics for care, and managing my health needs. Updated Review – 1.5 Years Later As I stated in my original review, I was very pleased with my first few appointments. Unfortunately, that positive experience was short-lived. During my first two appointments, I felt this clinic aligned with my views and approach to healthcare. Signing up for optimal health was the best decision I have made. I have been working with NP Chantelle Oostwoud and she changed my life. I have been told by other doctors that I’m crazy and that everything is in my head but Chantelle took me seriously, sent me for all the tests needed and found my struggles. She has helped me tremendously and never gave up on my case. I am beyond grateful for her dedication and her willingness to help others, she truly made a difference In my life.
The first time since the 1990s that a doctor spent more than 5 minutes speaking to me. Its expensive, yes, but the quality of OHIP care in Ontario has fallen off a cliff. It might take me literally years and years using public healthcare to get results. Just for the fact of actually being heard, its absolutely worth the price.
