Located in V lounge in the neighborhood of Santa Monica, Opaque offers an out-of-the-box dining experience of Dining in the dark. Once you arrive at the restaurant, it is a lighted room where you have to place your order, after which you will be guided to be seated in a pitch dark room. The servers at Opaque are visually impaired and are well trained to serve food and to guide sighted people, ironical to the usual situation in life. A part of your bill goes as a charity towards blindness research. Call ahead for reservations... read more

Opaque Dining must go on your 100 things to do before you die list I'm not sure where to even start! Opaque dining is such an eye opening remarkable experience. I don't recommend this for a first date. You are led, and escorted to your table, in a PITCH black room by a legally blind person. Your waiter/ress will also be legally blind. Let me tell ya-- it's not the same as just closing your eyes.. there is NO light. I don't want to ruin the experience so I will just say, it's awakening, interesting, different, exciting, scary... read more
I would say if you never been there, you need to try it. Go with a group of people though
Awesome! After reading reviews wasn’t sure how good the food was going to be. The food was flavorful and delicious. Yes it is pricey but all worth the experience.
food was great, service was exceptional, overall experience was tremendous
Yes the food was excellent. The service was phenomenal ( thanks Rafael). The experience however was spectacular.
Definitely makes you realize sight is a blessing
The food was good, but the service from the sighted people was terrible. They need to learn more about how to deal with people who are blind. They literally grabbed my friends hands instead of having them take their arm like you're supposed to do in sighted guide. Before you call this experience dine in the dark this restaurant in all of the chains needs to learn exactly how people who are blind dine, and they need a menu. People who are blind use menus all the time.
Unforgettable experience at Opaque in Santa Monica and yummy dinner ever! I'm glad I got to experience it! Thank you P.P 😍
