Great Place Great Service – I've used Onyx for years. Went elsewhere when shellac hit the scene because Onyx didn't have it and my nails suffered for it. Onyx does shellac now so I've gone back and am happy. They have a lovely tranquil atmosphere. Kevin not only takes pride in his work but enjoys it. That says it all. I take my daughter and Mom for Mother's Day treats as a tradition. I think the price is reasonable as well.
Why go anywhere else? – Kevin is the best. Sine qua non. If you don't go here, you are missing out on great nails, compliments, even flight attendants asking about your polish and what salon in what city you go to. Would I go anywhere else??

good for the price – One of the better manicures you can get for the price. I would recommend it for anyone looking for a nice, relaxing manicure for under $20.
Nice and Clean – They do an average job on nails nothing to complain about. It is clean and the massage chairs are nice. I always find it easy to get in for an appointment even at the last minute.
High prices for poor service – I have seen one person here who is very talented. However, the last few times have been awful. They cut into the cuticle of my toe, it still hurts! They shaped my nails, which are real and strong, like acrylics. Needless to say, most of them started breaking in a couple of days. The polish was poorly applied,it chipped in two days. BEST IN PORTLAND – I've lived all around the country and Onyx Salon in Portland is one of the best quality manicure/pedicure salons for the money I've found. For Portland it's a tad pricier than the average Nail shop on the corner, but the quality of the treatment & atmosphere is worth it! If you're from LA, Chicago, NY - you'll think you've gotten a bargain!
Best services I've found in Portland – I went there on the recommendation of a neighbor. They do the best mani's and pedi's I've ever had in town. Nice atmosphere, great staff, massage chairs while I had the pedicure. The prices are very competitive, too. I'm going back for more!
Wonderful – My best friend and I decided to treat ourselves to manicures, not something we normally get done. We found this salon and decided to try it. We were nicely surprised with how much we liked it and the great massaging chairs we sat in while recieving a pedicure!
