I reached out to Ontario Shores for help years ago, apparently they are too busy to even grant me a visit. Every few months I get a text asking me if I want to stay in the que for help. I get others need help, but I feel let down. Do I need to do something drastic to be listened too? Do I need to die in order for a call back? Do I have to end up dead? My wife has been here for almost 1 yr, after 4 months in a general hospital after attempting to take her life. Instead of providing a referral so she can be monitored in the home environment to assess her resiliency, even though it has been acknowledged multiple that this would be a good step, they are wanting to submit her to a shelter, A SHELTER!!!! Simply because my family situation cannot absorb the full responsibility and risk without supports! They are too stubborn to be willing to make the referral for in-home support... read more
I was on the EDU for two years from the age of 13 to 15. In the last 4 months of my stay, I was not allowed to go outside for fresh air because this was a "privilege" that I had lost. I need to point out that the unit has a courtyard so you don't even have to leave the locked doors. I lost this privilege because I had failed to attend all of the groups.
