I am a current patient here. Was mislead about inpatient therapy. They only do medication for inpatient. Very uncomfortable accommodations. Expect a uncomfortable bed that can't be adjusted. A roommate that talk to themselves or constantly enters and leaves the room opening and closing the door throughout the night. Choices are pretty much sit in a chair most the day or lie in your bed. With an occasional group here and there. Oshawa and Ajax hospital had way better beds and patients that don't scare the hell out of you
I was here at “Ontario shores” in the child adolescent unit” a little under a year ago and this is no place for someone who is looking for help. Whether you are a parent, or child your self. The staff are neglectful. Rude. And cold hearted. These are people who say “they love what they do” but do it with such hypocritical attitude. Was on a 2 year / longer wait list for the DBT program. Just started pre treatment about a month ago. I missed a few sessions no where near enough that are stated in the rules in order to be kicked out of the program and was kicked out of the program! All I was offered was a few resources emailed to me. This has been very detrimental to my mental health and instead of helping this therapist Amanda and this company have harmed me and my recovery deeply.
