The best practice is to get any vehicle checked out, run a compression check, drop the oil and check it and buy a warranty. We thought buying a used agency vehicle would mean getting a vehicle that was well maintained, that's not the case. The only thing that saved us on our purchase was an extended warranty and our engine mechanic. The truck blew the engine before 3 months and less then 3,000 miles. The final verdict cost nearly $6,000 to rebuild and the warranty company covered $5,000 on a $500 warranty.
