One of a kind! – Definitley one of a kind in Houston. Its more of a pub than a coffee shop to me. Great outdoor beer garden and cruisy / cosy indoor area. Never too loud so can always chill out with friends or whatever on any afternoon /or evening. Food is great and a decent range of drinks as well. No table service, but that is not a bad thing, even though the bar has spurts of being croweded for ordering. Parking is fine, just may need to walk 100ft so no big deal (I ride my bike or walk). Couple of TV's play the games, bu... read more
Fun & Laid-Back – If you're looking for somewhere go where you can wear your flip flops and an old college t-shirt this is it! I love this place!! It's a coffee shop, bar, and resturant all in one. The patio is beautiful, a great place to sip a glass of wine or a cold beer. PLUS they have an old Miss Pac Man game too :-)
This Heights coffeeshop is home to some great live music and the Houston Farmers Market. – In Short You're likely to find a band playing most nights at this casual neighborhood hangout. Breakfast treats include croissants, bagels, kolaches and coffee drinks. Lunch (served from 11:30am until 1:30am daily) focuses mainly on sandwiches, like the standout Country Ass Rueben and O.C. Poyboy, as well as salads, hot dogs, Frito pie and pizzas on cibatta bread. The wide selection of beer and wine rounds out the menu.
Almost Austin. – Good place to grab a drink with friends. The menu is small, but everything is good. Great place to make new freinds.
Houston's Central Perk – If you've seen "Friends" you'll know exactly what being coffee house is suppose to be like. Except, OC has food, wine and beer! The atmosphere is awesome, good crowd and music. This is a great place to hang out if youre just in the mood to relax and unwind with out ne hype. I go here at least once a week, check out their menu specials for crawfish and steaks!
Fun, relaxed place to hang – I really love their outdoor patio. The frozen lemonade is yummy and I a good sandwich, want to try the pizza next. Laidback, relaxed atmosphere.
Great Hangout – I only lived in the Heights for 6 months but in that time I discovered Onion Creek and now visit regularly though I am no longer in the neighborhood. I have never had a problem with the service. The bar tenders and busy if not friendly and my food is always delivered hot and on time. You can't beat the place of a lazy Sunday brunch, casual dinner or for just hanging out with friends at happy hour.
All good but the service – I frequent O.C. atleast weekly. The music and ambience are great. The food is good. The Tuesday night Dj is great, and the specials are good. HOWEVER, I have seriously considered not going back due to the fact that on several occasions some of the bartenders are rude, insulting, and could care less about the customers or their jobs. On several occasions I have had horrible service by 2 of the bar workers. My friends have also had experiences with the same 2.
What's up with people behind the bar? – Great Food, go for the Grilled Chix Sandwich, Tuna Salad Sandwich or any of their amazing pizzas. The wines by the bottle are a good buy and they carry a fair amount of small brewery beers on tap. The service is a different story, almost every person behind the bar is rude --- wish I could just say just "not friendly" but rude definitevely describes them. They are in serious need of a dose of "don't take yourself so seriously -- smile!." The guys that bring you the food are nice and so... read more
