Our first experience was fantastic. The staff was excellent, caring, and polite. The location was Summerfield Clubhouse. This time July 2, 2016 at the Walmart in Wimauma was not. The nurse that told us to sign in was RUDE. We sat outside waiting and when I checked again and asked since we signed in with a phone number would they call us she stated if you leave you will have to start over, well we were not going to leave my question was would they call us. I donate platelets at the Hollywood branch every couple of months and the staff there is great! They are welcoming, caring and very professional.
I gave blood in the Thomasville, Georgia location on June 17th. All the ladies in that office are excellent! I have O negative blood and try to give when I can, but will be sure to get back on a regular schedule of donating at the Thomasville office. They took excellent care of me and it didn't hurt at all!! Wonderful staff in Thomasville, GA!!
Went to the bloodmobile at Watson Clinic in Lakeland this morning. All the girls were so nice and friendly and did a great job, especially Quayla (not sure of spelling) who finally found my vein. Way to go!
UPDATE: Okay. So I just got a call from Susan Forbes, head of OneBlood's PR. First off, she apologized for the previous call I got this morning, saying things were said that are not their policy. She says the caller has been spoken to and OneBlood's position has been clarified to them. According to Ms. Forbes, they are behind eliminating the national ban on blood from gay men. The staff was friendly and the process went smoothly.
Needs better resource allocation. When you have people that meet your URGENT NEED criterion....you should be bumping less rare blood types back.
Donated for the first time yesterday at work (sponsored by UMA in Tampa) and its was an amazing experience. The staff stayed about two hours late just to honor us that was still in line. I felt light headed after the process and they new EXACTLY what to do. I knew I was in good hands. Thank you one blood.
