My eentire xperience at OneBlood was great. After the initial screening process I was greeted by phlebotomist Katey. She asked a few questions in regard to my health. This screening indicates your blood type, pulse rate, blood pressure and cholesterol levels. She was very professional and gentle. I have a fhuge ear of needles, but did not feel anything more than a tiny pinch. The whole process took 30 minutes. Not helpful staff.
2 visits to this facility and im not impressed. The first visit they hit my artery instead of my vein. The bag filled up in under 30 seconds. When the nurse realized what was happening she tried to signal to another person what was happening. The second nurse (or whatever they are) SCREAMED call 911. I was absolutely terrified. No one would tell me what was going on. They removed all the needles and such, compressed my vein for a few minutes. Gave me a bandaid and sent me out the door. This branch took really good care of me today. No appointment, I asked if they were free for walk-ins and they said yes. Signed in, filled out a small slip with my info, and was seen immediately. The prep, questionnaire, and donation for a single unit of whole blood was quick and very easy. Staff helped with a positive vibe each step of the way and allowed me to ask questions with clear answers. Always clean facility, crazy friendly staff with excellent customer service skills. I'm leaving a review bc I couldn't believe the negative comments about staff. They should be working for tips at a high end restaurant. Regarding wait time, I never have to wait when I have an appointment. Regarding rewards, sometimes it takes a day or two, but it's there when you log in to your OneBlood account.
