Great location – I took some friends after the baseball game, and it was great. I had no problem getting in with out a reservation(we were very early) and the food and service were fabulous. I would highly recomend to friends and will certainly be back.
Unbelievably bad service – I've eaten here many times, but tonight was astonishingly bad: we were seated for over 20 minutes before a server first approached us; dishes were served to the wrong people at every course; they attempted to serve us courses that were for a nearby table; at every course there was at least one person who did not receive their order; all the entree plates were cleared while one person was still finishing their entree (the person who's dish had been served 5 minutes after the others); utensils were n... read more
Poor Service – We've eaten here twice. The food is very good but the service has been lacking both times. The second time we ate here, we booked the chef's table with some friends for a birthday celebration. At $95 per person, we shouldn't have had to wave down a cook to find our server on numerous occasions. I doubt I would come here again when I can get great food AND GREAT SERVICE elsewhere.
...I like this place – I think this place is underated. I've seen really good reviews on Citysearch and a few negative ones. I've eaten there a few times this year and the food is stellar. Service was good too. Personally, I'm tired of small plates and here you get FED. Generous portions of well prepared food. Happy Hour is fun and a deal though I thought music was a little staid. I also appreciate restaurants that have waiters that serve you without trying to compete with you on the hip scale.
Expensive but great food lunch or dinner – I used to work 3 blocks away, so I ate there quite often for power business lunches. The steak was awesome. I always start with their head of lettuce caesar salad. Their best non-alcoholic drink is the raspberry lemonade. I liked the food so much that I would also take dates here for dinners, where the mood is more romantic and the location is very nice, right next to the Embarcadero. The food is just excellent. I've had all their dishes and there's not one I don't like.
..always pleasant – I've been here a few times in the past year and haven't been disappointed yet...delicious meals but last one (this past weekend) was especially good as our bottle of wine was half off. Can't figure out how they can do that but we plan to go a couple more times before the special is over at the end of the month.
Surprised – One Market was recommended to me by another restaurant in the area. I am planning an event there and came out to San Fran to test and review each potential restaurant. The food was consistently good though a bit eclectic. I went with a group of 6 people and each dish was very good. I will be holding my client dinner there and will give another review once that is done, but the staff was very helpful and was the deciding factor between that and my other choices.
One Market Restaurant – I took clients to the restaurant for dinner. The hostess had an aweful attitude. She was very "put-out" that our entire party that we reserved for did not show up (we were one shy of the original reservation). The waiter started out very strong by being friendly and offering the wine list right at the beginning as we sat down. However, after he took the order, the service really slowed down. We waited 1/2 hour between the end of starters until our meal was served.
too much for not a whole lot – i like the place but not the price. you get way more somewhere else. it's not really exciting but it's a great place for business dinner. NOTE: don't take your date there. Also, their set dinner menue might seems to be a good deal but very limited selection.
