On my 1st encounter with Dr.Darr after seeing my X-rays he went to the wrong knee. He also addressed all questions to my daughter instead of me(I am not senile).He offered me a gel injection which I agreed to. At the next visit, for the injection, no one checked my identification,nor my DOB.No hand washing occurred and only a 10 second betadine scrub prior to the injection. The gold standard of Orthopedics. You simply can’t do any better than this gifted surgeon. Professional and direct, this Doc truly knows his trade. He repaired my ACL on my right knee 2-3 years ago and I’m back to skiing like an Olympian and dancing like Michael Jackson. Thanks Dr. Darr.
I’ve had two knee surgeries done by Dr. Darr in the last 6 years. First my ACL, second was my meniscus. I went to the emergency room after tearing my ACL to have the ER Dr tell me nothing was wrong. Upon scheduling my first visit with Dr. Darr, he knew instantly that my ACL was torn just by one movement following an MRI. Dr. Darr did a total knee replacement on my left knee. From my very first visit, I felt that Dr. Darr communicated well and helped me make an informed decision on knee replacement.
I have been a patient of Dr. Darr for the last eight years for pain in both knees. I just had a total knee replacement for the right knee and am very happy with the entire surgery and experience with Dr. Darr. He has listened, offered options, and made good recommendations for me. His medical support team do a fantastic job also. I would highly recommend Dr. Darr!
I felt rushed and couldn’t completely understand about what exactly going on with my shoulder and choices of procedures I can do. It felt that he wanted to leave as soon as possible. Spent about 15 -20 min on the appointment
He was pleasant and informative about my knee replacement. I wish he had spent a little more time with me (for instance, at my post-op visit, he never even examined or touched my knee. He sat at a desk across the room).
I am a patient of Dr, Darr. He operated and put in a total knee replacement. As I am over the age of 70, he was very good at explaining what was going to happen. My recovery went well and I am back to work very part time. He is an excellent doctor and I would recommend him to anyone. The physical therapists in Hartford did an excellent job with me and were in touch with Dr. Darr on a regular basis.
I recently had a complete knee replacement and I was completely satisfied. He answered all my questions and I never felt rushed.
