Fantastic, skilled Surgeon. He was very respectful to us. My experience with him and his staff has been only positive. I am feeling so much better and glad I moved forward with him.
Dr. Awais and staff were phenomenal. I’m an Army combat veteran with severe PTSD, so I appreciated the extra time Dr. Awais spent with me both before and after he removed my tumor. He treated me with the utmost respect and sensitivity. He is a rare gem of talent and patience.
Do Not get a niseen fundoplication. Try another way. I had the surgery in 3/2025 and am now on hospice. I am full of regret.
Great surgeon but the staff at the UPMC Mercy office is horrible. No one likes to answer the portal or return phone calls. Never even returned my home health care nurses phone call. I had to go to the ER for someone to answer my question. I was supposed to have a 4 week follow up appt but I refuse because that office is down right horrible.
Dr. Awais was kind and thorough in his explanation of my treatment, and thoughtfully answered all of my questions. A nurse named Toni at his Monroeville office showed great care and concern over my questionable blood pressure, and she did it all with a smile.
