I have been in real estate for 16 year (haven’t practiced in 8 years) The appraisal company is a 1 man show. He used very outdated equipment and had very unprofessional look and manners. It’s my understanding that under new rules and laws due to the real estate crisis in 2008 appraisal companies are selected at random via 3rd party (lucky me) to prevent a repeat of colluding with lenders.
