Olivier’s is an authentic French Quarter Creole restaurant cooking dishes handed down through five generations. We're family-owned and operated, moderately priced, and quintessentially New Orleans, right down to our renowned Southern hospitality. Many of our recipes come down through the generations of our extended family – Mama Jeanne Gaudet Doublet, Audrey LaFrance Gaudet, and Cheryl Gaudet Olivier – and we carry on the tradition of our parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents, who stood in the kitch... read more

Great dinner! – I just had an excellent dining experience at Olivier's. I had the Creole Rabbit, which was quite lovely. Their house garlic salad dressing is great. I finished off the meal with the homemade bread pudding... heavenly.
disappointing – id walked by the place many times, and read the menu and family history in the window. nice story, long legacy, good prices. sadly, it wasnt good. as another pointed out, the fried items are *very* bland. we didnt bother finishing the crab-filled mushroom caps -- no taste to them. then we tried the gumbo trio sampler. again, there was just...nothing to them. bland and more bland. so we decided to stop at the apps, not get any entrees. the best thing we had was the complementary bread, and that just wont do. a... read more
One of the French Quarter must visits – We always make it a point to stop at Olivier's whenever we hit New Orleans. It's a clean, well managed restaurant. Good ambiance. Try the Poulet au Fromage. The herbed garlic salad dressing is excellent. Due to Katrina, the restaurant isn't staying open as late as it used to. On our last visit the food was good, but it wasn't served as hot as it should be.
A little disappointed – Sorry to be the voice of dissent...The atmosphere was very nice, but the food was just OK. Everything on the menu looked so good I couldn't decide what I wanted, so I ordered the Taster's Platter with Fish, Shrimp, Oysters, Crab & Salmon Cake, and Creole Gumbo. Everything had the same bland taste to it, not horrible, but not memorable. The shrimp appetizer was very rubbery and chewy; I think they cooked it too long. Hopefully I just caught them on a bad night, but I dont think Ill be going back. I may... read more
Great food at reasonable prices! – This is a great spot for a casual meal. The food is flavorful and service is friendly. Make sure you order the Pecan Breaded Fried Oysters and the Jambalaya with Fried Catfish. The wine list was also a very resonably priced. Great place for a larger group or children.
They should all be like this – One of our memorable experiences was having dinner at this restaurant. The food and the service were excellent ... and we found that your prices were reasonable, especially compared to some of the other "famous" establishments that we encountered A big Thank you to the Olivier Family!
