Manbeck was thorough, patient, answered all my questions and does have a fair amount of empathy for his patients.Unfortunately, access to Dr Manbeck is gated by an overwhelmed, angry, and vindictive administrative staff.Nobody ever answers the phone live, not ever and it takes days, sometimes weeks to get a call back.To the point where I have had to drive to his office and camp out in his lobb in order to book an appointment or get test results.
Excellent service. He gave me in-depth treatment options and helped me get to the next step. Without his help I probably wouldn’t have found the cancer soon enough
He is my Colonocopy Dr for several yrs now
Dr. Gilliam is one of the most caring and informative doctors I have seen in a long time. He makes you feel comfortable in an uncomfortable situation. He keeps things light but is also very informative about the procedure. He never rushes things and will continue to answer questions regardless of the time he has spent with you. I would highly recommend Dr Gilliam.
My experience is similar to his other low star reviewers. His mind were clearly made up in the appointment, and we talked more about his retirement thanks to my mom trying to put him in a better mood. Didn’t care about my previous chronic and severe gallbladder condition, or my notable family history. He wrote “angry and unpleasant” in my notes. Never have pain during colonoscopy like I had with a previous one.
I came for a visit today as my symptoms had gotten much worse recently. My last visit was in Jan 2018. Dr. Gilliam told me I had gained an "excessive" amount of weight over two years (15 lb weight gain) and that all of my issues were likely weight related. When I reiterated that I had these symptoms two years ago before I gained weight, he refused to listen or consider other causes. For reference, I'm 5'5" female, 165 lb, a size 6 in clothes. Dr. Manbeck has never met with me in his office, I find this odd. He set up my procedures both upper and lower GI through a person in his office. He spoke with me both before and after these procedures - not the most ideal time for me to comprehend. The most disappointing for me was when he ordered a CT scan, then had a person in his office call me about results and who suggested I may need surgery.
