The OK Cafe opened its doors July 8, 1987, and so great was the longing for a true southern restaurant that by the end of the first week it had become an Atlanta phenomenon with crowds standing in line to get in. Atlanta institution - very much a business breakfast location during the week - great service and good food...classic breakfast diner!
Back open after almost a year, and it was worth the wait. Most of their staff that has been with them for years is back with bright smiling faces and serving up the same delicious southern comfort food they have for decades. Try it all!
This is my favorite restaurant in Atlanta. I have been coming here since I was a kid. Never had something here I didn't like. My favorite things are the sweet potato fries, mac n cheese, and the country fried steak. Pumped they reopened.
OK Cafe is southern cooking at it's best without being too greasy. I've enjoyed pretty much everything I've had here - fried chicken, pot roast and delicious veggies for dinner; omelettes and waffles for breakfast/runch and great milkshakes for dessert. Southern foods servered in an upscale diner atmosphere. The desserts are excellent and the waitresses are always freindly. Be prepared to wait at peak times.
