I went to OHUS pediatric cardiology for a second opinion regarding my son's heart defect. OHSU charged me about $1300 after insurance to get an echocardiogram and see the cardiologist. I had just paid about $250 out of pocket for the same service at another clinic. I called and complained and was told "OHSU is a teaching hospital so our charges are more than at other places." They will price gouge you without remorse. I'll never go there again.
The new answering service after hours pediatrics has opted to use now is absolutely ridiculous. Not only did I need to speak to a oncall physician, a nurse can not diagnose or help with the issue that they are fully aware me and my son have been dealing with for the past 3 weeks. The nurse told me I had no choice that there was nothing beyond her. And when I noticed the number that called me back was 800 number.
