On long holiday weekends, allow extra time for everything (drop off, check in, security) or totally avoid.
Of you're in E/F or C terminals, take the free shuttle bus from C9 to E2 or vice versa and save yourself the 10-15 minute walk. Great if you have kids.
Don't fly through O Hare.
If you're in L - go to Goose Island! Good beer, tv, and veggie options too!
If you have a child under 10, and a bit of a layover, head over to the Children's Museum Kids Airport near E/F terminals.
