Oceans Hospital Corpus Christi is Perfect in every way. The only complaint I have is that I always have to wait in the emergency room for four or five days when I go there. In Houston, there is no requirement to go stay in the emergency room first before going to a psychiatric hospital. Oceans Hospital has excellent physicians, nurse practitioners, psychiatrists and staff. They got my medication just right and no one rushed me to be discharged too soon. The beginning of a family member stay was not what we thought. It was like a prison. But as we started asking questions and talking to different people it started to make sense. A lot of the patients information is confidential which I get. But there was one person Mr. Flores that was very helpful and informative to what that hospital had to offer. If I could give zero or even negative stars I would be more than happy to do so! My family members have been placed in this facility before on a VOLUNTARY basis and when completing the proper process to leave after only seeing a horrific therapist once and an even worse psychiatrist once for a grand total of 5 dreadful minutes. She was met with a denial and handed paperwork pertaining a legal process and a court date for an order of protective custody! Today was a very emotional day. Making the decision to put my father inpatient. Alzheimers and sundowners have made it very difficult for him. I started calling different places home, health, memory care nursing homes. The list goes on. One place would direct me to another place, or another phone number to call. A few people were rude, with zero empathy. In my opinion, you are choosing to work in nursing homes or behavioral health care, and you have zero empathy for the family calling you for guidance. Henry has been Amazing! I was in crisis trying to figure out how to help my daughter He walked me thru every step of the way and is still in contact even though it's the weekend to make sure my daughter is safe. Thank you Henry so much, you are a blessing!
