I have two chief concerns with OCD Anxiety Centers: 1) The treatment was very effective for others, not for me. I watched other people overcome some tough stuff while I was there, but I wasn't able to see the same progress. Full disclosure, I only completed 5 weeks of a traditionally 12-16 week program, so this might be the therapy version of me leaving a less-than-stellar review on a pancake recipe because I left out the eggs. Please do not go to this place for any reason, especially if you have OCD. When you first start you do an "orientation" where they have you read a very long set of extremely outdated beliefs about OCD. These beliefs about OCD are literally from a century ago and since then the knowledge(and treatment) about OCD had expanded greatly and I strongly recommend doing your own research about OCD to find this out for yourself. The OCD and Anxiety Center appears to provide structured and effective support for OCD and anxiety on their own. From an outside perspective, their methods seem solid for individuals whose needs fall within those areas. However, there are noticeable concerns when autism is involved. The approach does not appear to be well adapted for autistic individuals, and there seems to be a lack of understanding of how autism intersects with anxiety and OCD. We are getting billed again for a matter that was, supposedly, resolved a year ago! It's been two weeks of them no longer responding to my emails. One year ago, we had our daughter attend. We were told that we could try the program for a week and determine if the program was a good fit for our daughter or not. We were quoted at the program being around $400 - $500 per week. After the week was over, we decided that the program wasn't what our daughter needed, but we were told that we should try for an extra week, which advice... read more
