Dr. Ocampo takes me and my symptoms seriously, which is hard to come by when you have endometriosis and chronic pain! I had my surgery with him in September 2024 and he was very patient with my MANY questions and concerns. He spent time to answer each question with great detail and never made me feel like I was too much due to my anxiety surrounding surgery. He is a SKILLED surgeon and has continued to treat my follow up care with great detail and concern. I am very happy I found him in the Kaiser system!
Terrible bedside manners when patient was already in distress from pain. Zero empathy, just talking at the patient with no regard to how she was feeling.
Dr. Ocampo is a gem at Kaiser. As a person of color, I have often felt dismissed and minimized for my symptoms. I learned about Dr. Ocampo through a Facebook group, and am lucky to have been able to be treated by him. I had my laparoscopy two days ago and if it wasn't for him taking me seriously, I would have continued to be untreated for my endometriosis. And had been in chronic pain. Excellent physician. Listens, comforts, gives suggestions and has a great bedside manner. I am an extreme hypochondriac and am constantly sending emails with strange requests and questions. He is very patient and always responds. My husband is always telling me to leave him alone, but with my upcoming surgery (hysterectomy), I am a bundle of nerves and a huge pest. So far, the poor man hasn’t lost his patience with me. All I can add, is that I wish all doctors were like Dr. Ocampo.
Dr. Ocampo operated on me in 2015, and I'm preparing for another surgery with him this year. He is not only very professional, he's compassionate, caring, understanding, and very knowledgeable in his specialty.
