Great Practice! – Overall, I will say this practice is awesome. I've had a great experience with both of my pregnancies thanks to the obs and midwives here, and with this pregnancy, I hope to have a VBAC. Luckily, this practice is very VBAC-friendly and I know my odds are very good here vs. many traditional OB offices. My only complaints would have to be about the front desk customer service and the sonographer. After I found out the morning of my ultrasound that the sonographer didn't do this type of ultrasound, I decided t... read more

Customer Service Seriously Lacking – I'm not one to complain much, but I tell you - these people take for granted that they're the only obgyn practice with midwives allowed to birth in hospitals because their customer service stinks. They are snarky and condescending and laugh at their clients. Pretty much all of the staff that I saw, I witnessed talking down to other customers or they talked down to me. Instead of taking complaining clients into another or back room, they argue with them out in the open for those in the wai... read more

Could be so much better – The staff is so rude and condescending that I almost walked out before my first appointment. I mean they were rolling their eyes to my questions and huffing when I simply asked which blood tests will be taken on my first visit. The front staff also left me sitting for about 45 minutes at an 8a.m. appointment without stating the doctor will see you in a bit or we are all done with your paper work you can sit over there- nothing! just let's take your photo now sit down so we can discuss our group trip... read more

HORRIBLE PRACTICE – If there was a zero star that would be more appropriate. This is a practice that is doomed to fail due their unqualified and rude staff.

Totally agree with Disappointed in a few – I'm a long time patient here coming to this practice for many years. Dr. Sebestyen and Lisa are absolutely wonderful and professional, but not other providers at this place. Dr. Campaign is inexperienced. Other midwives are just OK, not very interested in listening to patients problems or explaining. Among them all, the sonogram specialist is the worst that we ever seen, impatient, unprofessional, not detailed, careless and rude. Glad to find out that I'm not the first and the only ... read more

Amazing VBAC experience – I had my first child with another, very popular practice in Austin. What I didn't know before the birth was that this practice is widely known for having a very high c-section rate, and low and behold, that is what I ended up with. I had a difficult recovery, and when this practice denied me the chance for a VBAC with my second pregnancy, I found OBGYN North. I loved everyone there, but especially clicked with Dr. Campaigne. They were always willing to listen to my questions and give me honest answe... read more

Business response:

Thank you so much for this comment. We are proud that are c-section rate averages 15% - way below the NAMC average of 40%, and the national average of 33%. The World Health Organization has set 15% as the goal c-section rate internationally as for some women and infants, this is the only safe route for birth. In contrast to this patient, some individuals prioritize themselves over the wellbeing of their fetus. It is our responsibility to ensure the safe passage of the mother and infant through birth. That does mean that at t... read more

define "Natural" for me please.... – Obviously the group gets rave reviews by some women, I guess it depends on what you consider "natural". I declined some of the routine tests during pregnancy and was met with much conflict... My birth plan included a part about no parent/child seperation and that we declined eye drops for our baby when he's born... I was told by dr Sebastain to "just let them do it", so that it's easier on the nurses. When I asked about no interventions I was told, "we aren't natural at all cost"... I cer... read more

Business response:

We appreciate this feedback, but need to clarify some inaccuracies. The mother and baby never have to be separated at NAMC. When the mother and baby are moving from their delivery to postpartum room (approximately 1 hour after birth), the baby generally goes to the nursery for a bath and full physical exam. The father always accompanies the baby and the mother is welcome to go too if she feels up to it. Many mothers are comfortable having the fathers do this as they have already birthed, bonded, and breastfed. This is a pers... read more

Misunderstood? – I moved to Austin a little over ago & was looking for an all female staff. I found that at OB/GYN north. We were looking to have our 4th child, when I got pregnant right away, we went to Dr. Sebestyen. She is absolutely wonderful, we went through all of our pre-work & a week later we miscarried. Dr. Sebestyen did a D & C, & was very compassionate towards us. Hugged us, cried with us. I've never had a Dr. do that. Then a month later, I became pregnant again. We were excited, scared & nervous, we'd already had... read more

Business response:

We were very sad to have to ask this individual to leave our practice. She is truly lovely. We are a collaborative practice, though, and we cannot accomodate patients who prefer all of their care from one provider - whether physician or midwife. Trust in each of the providers is essential for our collaborative model to function. Thankfully, there are many other reputable ob/gyn practices in Austin that follow this traditional model in which all prenatal care is provided by one physician, but a group of physicians cover the o... read more

Best OBGYN in Austin! – After searching around town for the best OBGYN with midwives, we chose this practice, and we are certainly glad we did! The first impression when entering the office was that the practice was geared toward younger moms (with the upbeat music and laid back atmosphere). All that aside, our experience with Dr. Sebestyen and team was absolutely perfect. From the very beginning, we were given all the information needed to assure a stress-free pregnancy. But the main plus about this team is their bedside ma... read more
