I called Oakley Square Eye Associates to see if they were accepting new patients. They said yes and I informed the employee I was speaking with that I did not have vision insurance. She said that was not a problem. I went to my appointment and again at the front desk informed them that I did not have vision insurance. They wanted my health insurance and said that health insurance normally covers eye exams once a year. Hi Katie - I'm sorry you had that experience on the phone and I will be addressing that with my staff. Rudeness isn't tolerated and I will make sure that it doesn't happen again. As you know from your message above, many (most) health insurance plans do not cover routine eye exams and contact lens fittings as they are covered under separate vision insurance plans. In general, I do not like the eye doctor. It is one of my least favorite things to do. Dr. Dirr and the staff at Oakley Square Eye Associate have changed all that. Until 2 years ago, I had 20/15 vision. My age is catching up with my eyes. Through all the changes in my eyes, Dr. Dirr and his staff have patiently helped me navigate the world of glasses and now contacts. All 10 eyes in my family of 5 are well cared for. The entire staff at Oakley Square Eye Associates was fabulous and easy to work with. I loved the 1 on 1 attention. Any questions I had were answered promptly and professionally.
I moved out of Oakley almost 6 years ago but still make the drive across town because I trust them with my eyes. Excellent service and they truly take the time to make sure you have what you need.

Everyone is so friendly here (and so patient with my indecisiveness on choosing my frames). Dr. Apfel is a great optometrist. I love all of the designers to choose from, best styles I've seen anywhere. I drive an hour from Dayton to use Oakley Eye Associates and always will!
