I recently went to get my labs done as my doctor requested. I had asked if we needed to sign in at the front desk before going to the room where the labs would be taken, my doctor had said there was no need. I have been going to Oaklawn now for about 7 years, when I first decided to start I was at my lowest of lows, the only time in my life I felt I was going to act on my suicidal thoughts. I had never been as depressed as I was in those few months and I have delt with depression almost my entire life. When I called, they told me they didn’t have the services that would help me. And when I asked what the services were, they couldn’t tell me. Was given to someone else to talk to at the end of the conversation. She said probably no psychiatrist I could help me. I stated so I’m supposed to stay crazy and depressed my whole life. She said I guess so.😡
With the “compassionate care, and uncommon sense they claim, I am not feeling it at all. I had a hard time getting times and days mixed up for my appointment. I have asked them to send reminders but I don’t get any. They now scheduled me almost three weeks out. The scheduler in Elkhart is very rude and nasty. It’s like she is making me pay for missing appts. I have been on the same meds for 40 yrs. (This is all happening as I switch facilities due to a recent move).
