I am terrified of needles ... we're talking to the point of passing out. Today Dr. Longhurst sent me to the lab for bloodwork, so naturally I was a nervous wreck. My phlebotomist was named Brooke, and she was outstanding. I have notoriously bad veins and almost no one gets the stick on the first try. I always look away while I get poked repeatedly and the phlebotomist has to dig around. Before I knew what was happening, Brooke was taking off the tourniquet and the needle was out ... she was done in seconds and I hadn't felt ... read more

Two of my girls (7 and 2) had surgery yesterday morning. The staff was fantastic on the med/surg floor. Dr. Streeter had a fantastic bedside manner and kept us informed on how the girls were doing. But I have to specifically mention a woman named Stacy. She was super helpful with answering our questions, very kind, and kept our long morning very positive. If you or your children need anything done involving ear, nose, and throat I highly recommend Oaklawn!

It's a good place to go because they are thorough and make sure they find the problems and take care of them quickly

Recently heard that a very loyal employee was fired for “too many absences” while trying to get over the flu. For gods sake, you’re a hospital! Would you rather that employee come in to work with chills and fever! Bet the bosses stay home when THEY have the flu! Do you not treat your dedicated employees better than this? So sad! I could not believe it when I heard it!
