About this business

Come enjoy her beauty and dream of her rich past . . . Located on the Mississippi River between the historic Louisiana cities of New Orleans and Baton Rouge, Oak Alley Plantation has been called the "Grande Dame of the Great River Road". Nowhere else in the south will you find such a spectacular setting! The quarter-mile canopy of giant live oak trees, believed to be nearly 300 years old, forms an impressive avenue leading to the classic Greek-revival style antebellum home. Oak Alley Plantation was easy to locate. Also, the area was nice and well maintained. We enjoyed the slave quarters and learned a few things that were never mention in the history books. I would highly recommend a visit if you're in Louisiana.

Beautiful. Picturesque. So sorry to hear they will no longer have the annual Arts & Crafts Festival! One of my favorites.

Loved the tour with the ladies in historical costume plus the interesting information proffered. As mentioned by other reviewers, the view from the upstairs balcony into the oak canopy is truly breathtaking. We then walked through the oaks to see the house through the trees. Stunning. The museum of slave cabins was also very interesting & extremely poignant. As an addendum, we enjoyed a mint julep from the bar; I could become addicted! Delicious! Enjoy the whole day, it really is super.
