I visited Dr. Nowak today. I have seriously crippling pain in both of my hips. After sending me to x-ray and reviewing the images, he found that I do in fact have issues with my hips: overgrown bones in some areas and shallow sockets, systs and torn labrum ... but there is no reason for my pain and that this isn't his specialty and I should seek advice elsewhere. Doug Nowak had a lot more One-star reviews over the past several months, which look like they were recently removed or hidden. I completely agreed with the other "One Star" previous one-star reviews concerning Dr. Doug Nowak. His staff is absolutely incompetent. (1) They never appropriately requested my images before my scheduled appointment. (2) His staff is rude, condescending, and they discuss other patients (like you) when they believe you are out of ear shot. (3) I was made to wait for over two hours while the high scho... read more
I find some of the negative reviews of Dr Nowak very comical. They must be from people who have only seen him once and didn't like his personality. No question, he is blunt. He does not sugarcoat things. He just tells you like it is. If you are looking for a touchy feely doctor, he is not your person. But remember, you are looking for a surgeon, not a friend. I had a great experience at Everett Bone & Joint with my hip surgery by Dr Nowak. He fixed my labrum and removed excess bone on my hip. Dr Nowak was very informative about the surgery and its recovery. He was very non-pushy about surgery and told me to think out it before committing. I am glad I decided to have the surgery. I am now back to running, hiking and overall living an active life about 2 years after my surgery. I couldn't be happier with my experience and highly recommend Dr Nowak and Everett Bone & Joint.
