After 3 pregnancies over 5 years and endless appointments, my lactation consultation with Dayna was the most helpful and informative appointment I have ever had. I went in so discouraged with weight loss and feeding issues with my three month old and left with a solid plan, optimism, and reassurance. As a patient, I felt like a priority and was met with remarkable empathy and professionalism. I would highly recommend this practice and Dayna.

Hi, I saw Dana Edmiston when I gave birth at Novant Matthews about a month ago. It was my first baby and she came into the room by herself the first time and had an awful unwelcoming attitude. I was proactive in bringing my own pump and hand pump which she did not seem happy with as it was not the hospital pump….. If you want people to buy that brand, tell people in advance. She was giving the least amount of effort…example I said it doesn’t seem to be working when I tried the pump and she goes “oh…”. Like okay so how do I f... read more

I saw Lisa for my first appointment about a week postpartum - she was filling in at the Ballantyne facility from the Matthews location. My son had trouble fully emptying the breast during feeds, so I was encouraged to triple feed or pump every 2-3 hours. I had been using a 17mm flange to pump, but I was measured during the appt and told to use a 21mm flange. Dayna Slomba is the best and most caring provider I’ve seen ever. The care and compassion she puts into her work truly makes a difference . My baby ultimately may not want to breastfeed long term, but Dayna reassured me that I was doing everything I could and she continued to try to encourage me to not give up but also respecting my limits and mental health as breastfeeding can be so draining if baby won’t latch, or supply is low.
