Quality vet care for cats Capital Cat Clinic and the vets there took terrific care of my cat who has been an insulin dependent diabetic for 7 years. They were extremely knowledgeable about feline diabetes and also treated my other cat who had a history of bladder stones. They sent a condolence email to me when my second cat passed away finally of cancer and are very caring. People are commenting on the high cost of care in the reviews. The cost of care is high but this is the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area where things l... read more
They're great as long as you're spending the cash I would certainly not recommend Dr. Brown regardless of the positive reviews I see online. I had a cat with a tumor that underwent a front leg amputation followed by numerous chemo treatments. Dr. Brown was very supportive throughout much of this ordeal as long as I was bringing Clovis in for visits and paying his fees. After Clovis unexpectedly died in November 2009 I had sent him an email and a follow-up email. Dr. Brown didn't even have the decency to send a quick condolen... read more
Capital Cat Clinic is too expensive but the care is good. I completely agree with the posters that say it's too expensive. They make you pay $66 each time you visit (only to weigh the cat and look into it's eyes!) on top of any extra vet procedures. It's ridiculous! Even though the care is good, you get the feeling that they push extra, unnecessary, expensive pet exams on you.
Good if you like to be overcharged and under served... We moved to Arlington a year ago and have two cats. Our experience with the Capital Cat Clinic has been very disappointing. Dr. Fernando is nice but the support staff have been atrocious. Our last vet was able to do everything necessary without freaking our cats out at all, but now they both get really skittish and freaked out. Our most recent two visits came after receiving a notification in the mail indicating that our cats were due for shots. However when we showed up... read more
Awesome care of my kittens I have been going to Capital Cat Clinic for about a year with and I have been impressed by the service and care they have given my two kittens. It is pricey, but definitely worth it. I have so far liked all three doctors that I have seen there, including one doctor who recommended some holistic, natural remedies.
Excellent Diagnostic Skills, Friendly, Clean, Caring Vets I took my senior cat, Lydia, to Capital Cat for the last six years of her 17 year life. Dr. Brown is a brilliant diagnostician. He was thorough in his examinations and taught me how to care for Lydia's diabetes, her hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and other geriatric feline issues. His clinic is a small private feline-only clinic and therefore his prices might be slightly higher than a larger facility, but I am happy to pay a bit more to receive the personal care that his... read more
Bad boarding experience I am giving Capital Cat two stars because my experiences with the vets were always fine. However, I boarded my cat here on about 4-5 occasions and had a very negative experience which has caused me not to return. The last time I boarded my cat, when I picked him up I was informed that I would be incurring an additional charge (approximately $100) on top of the already hefty boarding fees, as they had had to "de-flea" my cat when he arrived. My cat is an entirely indoor cat, and has no exposure to othe... read more
Very disappointed I agree with the reviews that this clinic is very expensive. I was willing to pay the additional expense because I felt my cat was receiving good treatment. However, she became very sick, and I needed to get her in immediately to see a vet. I called and was told that the clinic had no appointments and could not accomodate me. I actually had to beg to even talk to the vet. I was leaving for Thanksgiving that evening and was desperate. The vet actually told me to take my cat on the flight with me. I was shock... read more
Worth the trip and the expense Can't praise this clinic highly enough. After encountering poor care & poor service from several local clinics, I hauled my senior cats across the river to Capital Cat. The cats don't like the trip (nor do I), but the professionalism of this clinic is worth it. It's true -- they love cats! The staff's commitment to its work is evident in the care it provides. Very important -- they clearly stay current with changes and new developments in veterinary medicine, and they communicate with the pet o... read more
