Can't complain about the care they provided my daughter between ER and hospital (only reason it's 2 stars and not 1). HOWEVER, the bill. Insurance says that the ambulance company doesn't need to negotiate (and refuses to do so), thus costing us more (2.5k) than my daughter's ER + 3 night hospital stay combined. I'm flabbergasted this is allowed. Shame on them for taking advantage for people in emergency situations. What else are we going to do? They know they have us in a life/death situation, and take advantage of it.
The attending EMT was very kind and caring. Unfortunately, that's where the good part of the experience ends. The ambulance was freezing cold (they said it would warm up in a few minutes - it didn't) and the driver was an idiot. She (driver) took the SLOWEST route possible to get to the hospital . It is 9.9 miles from where I was picked up to the hospital, and the bill was $500!!! Although my insurance did pay a portion, I was still left with a large bill to pay. Drivers need additional training. Almost got in not one, but two accidents. The worst is their billing practices, not to mention their rude staff. I hope this business gets shut down. They prey on people in an emergency then try to scam money out of them.
Just want to comment on the caring and absolute one on one from Beth. She paid so much attention to me- made me feel as if I was the only person she had to attend to! Thank you so much Beth!
