We hired Northpoint Asset Management – Atlanta, GA to manage our rental property and suffered significant financial loss because of their negligence and lack of oversight. Northpoint never verified the tenant’s identity or employment. The person who moved in used a fake name and fraudulent income documents and, as we later discovered, had a criminal background. This company is horrible. As an owner they believe it's okay to you when they feel like it. There no communication on receiving your money, they randomly take money from your bottom line without any explanation, and then when you try to get it back months without any word occurs. Needless to say, I do not recommend this company. There no chain of command, everything has to go back to your property manager - if I could get any resolution from them, I wouldn't be calling you! Absolutely disgusting service. I’ve been living in my current rental home in Georgia for over 3 years and they are asking for an application & fees from both myself AND my husband. Why would you have your existing tenants pay an application fee AND $199 “admin fee”? I’ve been paying faithfully & taking great care with the home. Do not try to get over on people and do your jobs professionally. If there’s a new system, it is not the tenants job to do the work.
If I could give -100 stars I would. While renting a property with this company my sister and I experienced two property managers and a series of problems. Before we signed the lease, we told the first property manager that there were several issues with the property the biggest including a light fixture that was about to fall off of the ceiling, and a bathroom that was trashed by someone who seemed to have broken in and the home was not cleaned very well. Horrible property manager experience.Cyrus did not do any inspections nor the proper checks. Before the tenant was selected we had a documented criteria and Cyrus did not follow. The tenant had a poor rental history and had to me lawfully removed from my property. Now I cannot get money for damages nor lost of rent for 1.5 years because of Northpoint poor legal handling and collections. Please avoid this company at all cost. You will have a nightmare of process. This could cost you over hundreds of thousands as it has me.
